Why did my books not automatically renew?

Answer

There are three reasons that your books might not have automatically renewed.

Firstly, if somebody has reserved your book, then it has to be returned at the end of the loan period. If you really need the book, you can reserve it yourself once it has been returned.

The second reason could be that it has already automatically renewed 26 times (main collection) or 1 time (School Experience Collection), which is the limit. If this is the case, you do not have to return the book, but you can only renew it by taking it to the Service Desk on level 1 (the middle floor – where the main entrance is). If you do not return it or renew it at the Service Desk, your account will be blocked.

The third reason is that one of your items is overdue and your account has been blocked. When your account is blocked, all other items will no longer automatically renew. Once you have returned the overdue item, you will need to renew the other items on your account manually. You can do this by accessing your library account in Library Search. Once you have done this, renewals will start working automatically again from the next week.

Please contact us if you have any concerns about returning a book.
