How do I find my publisher's open access requirements?

Answer

Most publishers will have an open access policy which tells you what you are allowed to do with different versions of your research. This will likely depend on if you have paid an APC (published Gold) or not.

The following tools are designed to help you find out what your publisher allows:

Search SHERPA ROMEO for your publisher or by journal ISSN, or title and you will get a summary of publisher and journal copyright and open access policies.

The DOAJ - Directory of Open Access Journal contains thousands of international peer-reviewed open access journals and links to their websites,  where you should be able to find open access policies and terms and conditions for submission.
