You should always ‘unlink citations’ before you submit an assignment with Zotero generated references. This ensures that any edits you have made to references in the Word document are preserved.
Before you save your Word document for the final time, click ‘Unlink citations’ in the Zotero tab. Click ‘OK’ in the pop-up asking if you are sure you want to unlink citations.
